Guidance and Resources for Families

By fostering close connections with families, we ensure that communication is meaningful and that children receive the support they need to thrive.

    Hours of Operation

Eligible care hours match your work or school schedule, with 30 extra minutes added for drop-off and pick-up. For example, a 9:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule allows care from 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.

    Communication

We encourage open communication between families and staff. Teachers take the time to learn what’s important to you and use that knowledge to guide learning and experiences for the group.

In accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, we need a copy of your child’s immunization record or a written statement if you have a religious or conscientious objection.

In the event of an injury at the center, staff will administer first aid. Parents will be contacted immediately if medical attention is necessary, and Emergency Services will be called if needed.

    Clothing

Exploring and creating can be messy! Most of the materials we use are washable, but some paints and supplies may leave stains that are hard to fully remove.

    Nutrition

Children are invited to taste a range of foods at their own pace. Every meal supports their nutritional requirements, and no child will ever have food withheld.

Parent Resources

The Parent Handbook provides families with guidance on our mission, values, and the policies and procedures that shape life at our center.

Children need healthy, wholesome foods

The three week rotating menu is planned according to the Food Guide and recommendations from our local Public Health Unit. All food is cooked with consideration of maintaining its full nutritional value. The centre provides a morning and afternoon snack and a midday lunch. Our standards exceed the following guidelines:
